Julia Jackson doesn’t just serve as the proprietor of Jackson Family Wines, but serves as the guardian of the family’s legacy. Wines and their cultivation is a family business and the Jackson family plans to keep the tradition alive and in the family. Now that Julia is part of the family business she plans on focusing on expanding with international marketing, the expansion of the business into new areas, and is passionate about giving back.
Julia works with a non-profit called Seeds of Empowerment, an organization that supports woman owned businesses and projects, fitting because she is a female businesswoman herself. A graduate of Stanford Business School, Julia is keen on getting her family’s wines into the homes of her generation of wine drinkers. Most recently Jackson has been on a mission to prove that the family’s Cabernet selection is the best varietal for Sonoma.
Sonoma County is best known for creating great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the Jackson Family Wines is bringing a great varietal to the scene. Verite is the company’s Sonoma County feature, and Julia Jackson is already sure it is going to be a success based on its early promise when shown with other comparable vintages.
